The Carl Towley Award, the most prestigious award bestowed by the Journalism Education Association, will be awarded to Pella High School publications adviser Ann Visser.
The decision was announced Wednesday on JEA’s website.Visser will receive the award in November during JEA’s national convention in Kansas City.
According to JEA’s website, the Towley award winner “is presented to a JEA member whose work is unusually beneficial and of superior value to the national JEA and to scholastic journalism.”
Only one winner is selected nationally each year.
