The Iowa Journalist of the Year contest deadline is mid-February each year. The winner of the Iowa contest earns $500 from IHSPA and is the Iowa entry for the national JOY contest.

All submissions must be digital. The applicant must create a website that hosts the portfolio. Most questions can be answered by viewing the JEA website. Specific instructions about how to do this can be found at this link.
