Looking for an amazing journalism opportunity this summer?
High school students interested in journalism and yearbook can take in-depth journalism courses at the University of Iowa July 14-18.
The Iowa Summer Journalism Workshop (ISJW) is a five-day residential summer camp, where students learn from award-winning journalists, professionals, and journalism professors. There are seven amazing sessions to choose from, including broadcast, graphic design, investigative reporting, leadership, photography, and two personal writing classes. Students get a taste of college life while experiencing one of the world’s most prestigious writing universities. The workshop is hosted by the UI School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Don’t let cost be a barrier. ISJW offers full-tuition financial aid for students who demonstrate hardship or need, along with full-tuition scholarships for Linn County, Iowa residents. Tuition assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so apply for tuition assistance now while funding is available!
In 2023, 27 students received full funding to attend ISJW through these tuition assistance opportunities!
